QuranMeaning in our own words

Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their chastity. That is purer for them. Allah is aware of what they do.

The next verse gives the same instruction to believing women.

Do not come near adultery. It is a shameful deed and an evil path.

The command is not only to avoid the act, but what leads to it.

As for the one who feared standing before their Lord and held their soul back from its desires, Paradise will be their home.

Those who are mindful of Allah, when a prompting from Shaytan touches them, remember Him, and suddenly they see clearly.
