Al-Ākhirah

What comes after this life, and why it matters now. The Quran returns to it constantly, not to frighten, but to put this life in proportion.

QuranMeaning in our own words

Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full reward on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is moved away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has truly succeeded. The life of this world is only an illusory enjoyment.

Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.

The life of this world is nothing but play and distraction. The home of the Hereafter is true life, if only they knew.

When death comes to one of them, they say: “My Lord, send me back, so that I may do good in what I left behind.” No! It is only a word they say. Behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.

This world beside the next is a drop on a fingertip.

This world compared to the Hereafter is like one of you dipping his finger in the sea: let him see what it brings back.
